My wife however is from the Tampa (Sarasota) area and all of her friends and family are there. Here social life and said relationships are much more important to her than anything holding me here in DFW. That being said, is it completly stupid to consider coming to Allegiant at some point? Assuming a long term/retire one day from, type career move. Obviously I would want to be based out of PIE or PGD to even make it worth considering. I know this is opinion based because you would have to know what is more important to us between QOL at work vs QOL where you live, but if anyone want to weigh in feel free.

The Big 4 would be a step down for me. In the left seat at a young age with with an awesome QOL. If the wife ain’t happy......your bank account......well it will all go to her.

Any major change in my QOL as it relates to out-and-backs or centralized basing would represent the end of my airline flying career.

PGD is going to have a lot of growth once the transition is done so you will be able to get based there right out of training and have nice schedules not far after that. QOL is amazing at Allegiant it can't be beat. PIE is senior so you won't be able to hold it after initial training but possibly within a year.

I wouldn't base your decision on trying for G4 based on the out and back model. If we merge or change model you won't be doing out and backs only. Go with whomever offers you a job first and dont look back. If that's your first wife dont sweat it. Usually gotta try a couple few till you find the right one.

The out and back model has made us the most successful airline for nearly 10 straight years. While we won’t always do 100% out and backs, the current model won’t change.

If they end the out and back model, they are going to be looking for an awful lot of pilots. And few will feel incentivized to come here.

Without the out-and-back model with no overnights (or mostly no overnights) what other reason would you come here for? Might as well apply at Delta or United.
