If you want to get a call for an interview the best way is probably to attend a job fair that Allegiant is attending. The people at the job fair will likely be some of the same you'll encounter later on in the hiring process.

Thanks for the input. Guess I’ll be staying put and upgrading. As for the job fairs. I was definitely planning on going to those. Will the recruiters still be attending them this year even with the current hiring freeze? Also, at what point should I start going to those? I’m currently just shy of 2100 hours. Should I start going to them now or wait till I’m close to meeting the minimums?

If you were a pilot recruiter/HR and started to see this guy or gal at several of our recruiting events, I’d say they sure want to work for Allegiant. Just food for thought. We had one guy in our new hire class that was hired with relatively low time considering our class average of flight hours. He was a regional FO and non military. Moral of the story, he put in the work and now he is an Airbus driver. Best of luck!

I think the FAPA job fair in Vegas, NGPA, WIA, and OBAP are usually attended by Allegiant in addition to some smaller ones occasionally.

How often does involuntary TDY happen around here? Obviously it depends on base specifics but does it tend to make it around to all the bases eventually?

Depends on the base and the time of year. Pre-contract, it was frequent and often. From what I have seen it has become only an occasional issue. But most months a few are getting TDYd from some base.

Because we cater to the leisure market, our flying has large seasonal shifts, particularly from Florida in the winter, to the west coast in the summer.

It used to be pretty often pre contract. Post contract, they built up VBD and it became much less. Word is that VBD is going to greatly reduce after the transition, so I'm thinking TDY will become common again.

If there's any corporate memory left over at HQ, the new people making decisions should ask the veterans why mass TDY was stopped and how come ****ed off pilots cost the company way more than happy ones. Everybody was told when they signed up here that if you move to base you'll be home with your family every night. Then they turn around and get TDY'd 2000 miles away for 4 months straight. No bueno.

And apparently TDY/VBD pilots aren't being given rental cars anymore either. Also being assigned short stay hotels without a kitchenette for a month long stay. So all of these involuntary TDYs are literally going to become hostages in a hotel with applelebes in the parking lot and nothing else around. Not what you would expect from the nation's most profitable airline!

I suspect a mass of late departures puts an end to that BS pretty quick.

If that's the case with VBD shrinking, then there should be absolutely zero reason for them not to provide rental cars for CPT's and FO's. The reduced cost from the shrinking VBD will definitely cover it. I hope this is a top priority in the town hall and something that the union can fight.

Default Profit Sharing

New guy here. Can anyone explain how to estimate what our profit sharing percentage will be for this next payout? Thanks.
