If I understand it correctly (thinking back), you are eligible to vote from day one. Essentially, it is an employment (company) probationary period, not a union probationary period.

Can someone confirm voting rights day one? That could be very important to those hired over the next year (2021 amendable date, right?)

Nothing limits voting rights. Effective dates of current CBA are 8/1/2016 to 7/29/2021, can be amended 6 months prior....so end of January 2021(which is much closer than people think). The union “assessment” is a noticeable deduction on the ‘ol paycheck but hopefully it proves to be a good investment come January 2021.

I believe you are correct, I was quoting the CBA definition.

1 BLI
6 CVG
7 FLL
18 GRR
3 IND
1 LAS
11 PGD
11 PIE
8 SAV
12 SFB
1 TYS

Bid Closes on 8/25... I assume whatever is left would go to the early September class. Then I would expect the Vacancy bid with ABE/BNA will come out and shake things up a bit.

Default FL Base Schedule

All set for a Sep 23rd class. Excited to be at a major, however have a few questions maybe some of you could help me with.

Living in Florida 1.2hr outside SFB. Only concern is potential schedule / base award. FLL or SFB is my goal. Anyone have a sample schedule / bid?

I understand seniority will influence days on / off, but what can a junior FO somewhere in Florida be expected to have for a schedule? Hours flown a day? Days on / off? How hard is it getting required days off? Swapping / trading trips? Do you have to use all vacation time at once?

Thank you kindly in advance for the read and any responses are very much appreciated. -Happy Contrails

Answers based for a new hire, obviously with time, things will get incrementally better:

Living in Florida 1.2hr outside SFB.

Thats gonna be a rough distance to keep traveling.

Only concern is potential schedule / base award. FLL or SFB is my goal. Anyone have a sample schedule / bid?

Yes. All reserve.

I understand seniority will influence days on / off, but what can a junior FO somewhere in Florida be expected to have for a schedule?

Everything nobody else wants. Ie. Reserve on weekends, holidays, and any other day you would want off.

Hours flown a day?

The real question you should be asking here is duty time per day. Do you like car rides across the countryside?

Days on / off?

11-12

How hard is it getting required days off?

You’ll get your minimum days off and thats it.

Swapping / trading trips?

Sure, I’m sure there is somebody that wants that reserve day on Friday/Saturday/Christmas.

Do you have to use all vacation time at once? All at once for each week you earn. Ie. Two weeks can be split, one week cannot.

Thank you kindly in advance for the read and any responses are very much appreciated. -Happy Contrails
