No reason was given. They did mention this past weeks class of 28 was the last small class of the year. Next few are 40 then 46, finishing the year at 50 per class.

For the 24 Jul class? Posted a few pages ago:

LAX 320 - 13
LGA 737 - 4
MIA 737 - 4
PHL 190 - 7

The next class drop will probably be out this Wed.

I wonder if it has to do with the half (+/-) of the remaining Mad Dogs retiring early this fall, and those coming off needing to get time in the Schoolhouse for the 737 or A320? Plus Schoolhouse taking vacation. Just educated guesses.

Thanks! Do you know if the LGA is for domestic or international?

No. Looking at the new hire headcount during Jan, Mar, Apr, May averaged 39 per class (sometimes a few more, sometimes a few less). Looks much like the overbook of a few more than seats on a flight, always knowing a few are no shows.

In Feb, Jun, Jul the average has been 25 per class (sometimes a few more, sometimes a few less).

It appears to me the reason is an external reason, a bottleneck someplace in the training pipeline (or a bunch of extra pilots getting training to come off the MD-80s that are being retired).

Hey what are the average street hires looking like these days? TT, PIC, Special qualifications, Fighter/Heavy, type ratings.... I'm a heavy mil guy/regional CA trying to decide if I should make an intermediate jump to an LLC for a 320/767 type or just stick it out in the E-175 until AA calls.

I would hang tight, mil/121 is the best way to get an interview here, unless you can put dal/ual/swa on your resume, I would stay where you are and keep building pic.

Depends on your hours/ quake breakdown now, how long you’ve been a Captain for and if you can become a LCA soon...

If you’re pushing 5 years as a regional captain without LCA in sight you may be better off moving on.
