The 76-200 maybe...
The 75 - No way... Best flying airship ever...
You'd have loved the -30 series -9's, and the flying they did.

You have to understand that the 80 was the first jet I ever flew. As such I am forever smitten by everything about it. To top it off, most of them were steam gauge non GFMS aircraft... and I am an old school type of pilot. Steam gauges, mechanical controls, etc... that’s my cup of tea. Setting off car alarms every smoky takeoff roll, icing on the cake. Plus it was just pure fun to fly.
I didn’t fly the 75/76 til much later, by then I was a seasoned airline pilot so the novelty aspect wasn’t there anymore. That said, I greatly enjoyed those machines and they flew well... but they couldn’t hold a cup of water to the pure joy of flying an 80. They were a lot more automated with much longer legs, mostly on A/P compared to the fun 4-5 short hops on the 80 with tons of hand flying.
I would have **LOVED** the DC9-10/-30/-40/-50 series and am bummed I never got to fly them.
I know, I’m weird!

I liked the MD80. Honest airplane and very seat of the pants. A challenge to fly it smoothly. I did not like autoland approaches in it but I never did one when it was low visibility. The only other draw back is the autothrottles. They were moody. My favorite was the F100. Then A320, then MD80, then 767-300, then 767-200 and my least favorite the 757. Looks cool but breaks down. Forgot about 727 panel. Really hated that one. I apologize for thread grab.
