Maybe the early retirement will help our case. So far the rumor is 1500+ has signed in for. We still have 5 more days before the initial window close, after that they will have 2 more weeks to resign the early out.

I'm all for saving jobs - but I'm not convinced our management group wouldn't take an ALV reduction and furlough the same number anyway. Haven't we learned that lesson before? I'd want something in the language that'd give us a win if they went ahead with the furlough - not just a snap back to the original ALV, but something we didn't already have before.

Unbelievable. This is why pilots should stick to flying and not try to give advice. Especially financial advice.
I have unfortunate news. Even if you have a non aviation degree such as myself..we all lack something very important outside of aviation: Experience. It's because we have dedicated the past decade + acquiring experience as pilots and not in anything else.
Think you'll go find something to do that pays even a fraction of what you make as an airline pilot? Wake up. If the worst happens and we have to adapt and survive, each one of us will figure it out. One way or another. What certainly won't help are smug comments like "you have six months..prepare nowww" or bone headed financial advice.

I see it as a win only if the reduction in my paycheck goes entirely to keeping other guys from being furloughed. I need to see the math and some strong contractual language. Not just a wink and a smile from management. I'm not an industry veteran by any means but I've seen this movie before.
