The way I heard it was that the coronavirus was frantically trying to develop a Chuck Norris vaccine.

Since vaccines are probably pretty far out, I think we need not put our hope in that, but rather therapeutics, in the short term. If they can treat the symptoms, like a cold, until a vaccine, then I think the general public will be more comfortable to get back to normal.

Its a virus with percentage of asymptomatic cases and virtually zero deaths in younger people (under say 50). Risk v reward

It is risk vs reward. This like everything comes down to the dollar. Air travel will return vaccine or not. The corona fear will dull (as I think it should) and it will be just like smoking/drinking/getting in a car. It will be a risk people accept.

$275 a week in Florida. Big money.

I thought the same thing when this all first started back in March. I was certain that by August people would have moved on and accepted the risk vs reward. But now it doesn't look that way. Large numbers of idiots are actually terrified of this thing, acting like catching it is a death sentence. I get it if you are high risk, and we all have a role to play in stopping the spread (masks despite me hating having to wear them)..but 'cmon. At this point I don't think we are returning to normal until a vaccine arrives. Not with the 24 hour news cycles on a constant rampage of fear.

As for a vaccine, Moderna seems to be close to having one ready by early 2021.

True, the fake news lamestream media is driving this hysteria for the express purpose to unseat the president. After the election, especially if Biden wins, you won’t hear anything about it. All will be rosy in their eyes.

It's a bunch of self-entitled people like you not taking this seriously that are the problem. Sure, most people are asymptomatic, but the problem with that is they can easily transmit it to people with health issues or others in the high-risk category. Not to mention, even if someone recovers, they are multitude of possible long-term health complications that can pop up.
