No, it’s a negotiation. Just because you work at a WO doesn’t mean you can’t go somewhere else. Mgmt isn’t making anyone stay. Every regional sucks. You aren’t missing anything by going to a regional with a flow.

I don't believe this.
If it is true it in no way represents the norm unless you flew in the military or had thousands of hours of turbine time, including PIC, from a previous job. So for you to go around and tout it as something people should be expecting is just as disingenuous as you claim recruiters at WOs are while touting flow at 5 years.

2 years as an FO, upgrade, 1 year as a CA then call to interview around 800 TPIC.
OR 2-3 years at a regional, jump to an LCC, 6 months to 1.5 years there then interview.
class was DL in early 2020

Again, Piedmont and PSA had flows who were hired at their respective regional less than five years before they flowed here. Those are the people who hit the timing exactly right, but it was happening for those lucky pilots right before covid.

a few (I think 5 or 6) people in my class had less than 4 years total between 1 or 2 airlines and 0 military flying time. Not the norm but certainly not unreasonable

maybe things have changed. Probably a good thing. Congrats to those pilots.

always makes me chuckle how all these fan boy/groupie types like bean counter love to come on a pilot forum and throw stones. I wonder how many pilots hang out in accountant forums?? Yea, that would be none.

2. Do airlines pay writers to print headlines/publish articles like this, or do they just write it themselves and pay websites to publish it?

We had guys from two of our WOs who flowed in just under five years before the music stopped. Not such a bad deal for them, don't know how anyone can argue it is.
Does it register in your brain that everyone here is trashing you because you're being a garbage human being? Are you here trying to make yourself feel better because you are so unhappy? Seriously what drives this kind of behavior?
Can someone from Delta please come identify and remove your trash?

moreover, CP didn't hire people without previous 121 time prior to 2014, with the exception of 7 pilots who all flowed. So, his story sounds HIGHLY improbable.
Sounds more likely he got turned down by Envoy and/or AA and is still butthurt years later which is almost as pathetic as his trolling.

It's been a while, but I think he is lieing. CP was not flowing pilots in Nov 13. I'm not even sure Delta was hiring in 2013. Even if they were flowing, a 2010 hire would not have flowed in 2013. Also, the hiring climate then was highly competitive so I'm pretty skeptical someone hired in 2010 hired got off the street in 2013 with little or no TPIC.

Delta had classes in November, 2013. They were recalls (some declined), Mesaba, and CP flows. The fact he mentioned November, 2013 means he may be DL, but he’s definitely lying about his hire date, which isn’t surprising. When he (or she) basically rips apart every airline, the mob will come for blood. Funny he rips everyone except UA, hmmmmm.....
Anyways, I peaked through his posts. He’s a troll that essentially trolls all the AA carriers, SkyWest, and Endeavor.

This is one example but he’s one of those “Pilot Instagram influencers”.

Good for this kid but looking at his history, he spent 6 months at Republic, hired at Spirit, then hired at DL a few months later. He probably has less than 500 hours of turbine SIC time. No way he was the only one either.
