Boarding priority is by time of checkin, not seniority
Spouse/Domestic partner and kids under 24 get benefits
Up to 2 parents or parent-in-laws can be listed. They exist in a space between dependents and buddies
Nonrevs are eligible for any open seat at no surcharge.
You get 6 vacation passes (D1), per person, per year
Buddy passes aren't particularly useful. The per-leg surcharge generally matches or exceeds a domestic advance-purchase coach fare. They do have niche uses for last-minute travel and intercontinental premium travel. The low boarding priority also limits their suitability to someone who has ample extra time of money. (eg your 25 year old ski-bum kid or your 72 year old retired aunt)
Zed/offlline/oneworld is a similar situation to D3. Oneworld employees get very very very slightly higher nonrev boarding priority. Don't know if it's reciprocal. I don't believe non-rev benefits allow premium cabins on oneworld.
There is a nonrev travel manual that is quite useful.

Can you imagine the outrage if it were more than 2? “It takes a village to raise a child, therefore I’m entitled to list 27 people as my parents”.
