How often are the various fleet getting called on reserve outside of summer flying?

True. Lots of domestic pilots layover in their hometown and sleep in their beds every night. I get those sometimes, need seniority to get them consistently. On the flip side I am on day 22 of my 40 days off block using 12 days of vacation. Have another block of vacation to burn later this year. You call it work...I call FedEx the best part time job out there.

Well at least right now at AA it's not quite as good as it was pre-COVID because we are using the WBs on a lot of high capacity domestic routes. Still being used much less than NB. Even on the NB side the Bikity to proffer for easy broken trips in DFW at least makes life better.

Man that’s nuts. I’ve talked to friends who get 20+ days off /month and they’re not particularly senior. How is that possible?

QOL, yes. Day off, no.
Bid long call. I still don't consider it a day off, but it's also not the same as being on the road the whole time either - narrowbody LC in my seat/base is good for about 8-10 days per work each month.

Line bidding plus awesome vacation policy = lots and lots and lots of days off at FedEx.
