Top Men are claiming that 401k and pay effective date at date of hire are in APA’s updated proposal. One Top Man claims the ask even includes retro for those particular items.
Ball’s in Robert’s court. You’ll see how much he values labor. Or, more accurately, Lucretia Guia’s court, since Robert farms out these type of things so he can hide and avoid making tough decisions. |

I heard from few AA pilots that some senior guys bid reserve and they never get to fly,
So basically spend the whole month on reserve, never fly and every 3 months go to the Sim to do landing recency. Furthermore, even being on reserve for 3 Months without flying they still get the minimum guarantee. Does anyone know if that’s true at AA? Cheers WB can be like that. The WB fleet has shrunk and AA is not interested in actually flying over the oceans, instead preferring to use codeshare partners to do the flying for them. NB, hang on to your hat Snoopy.... |

Yeah, I've seen junior line-holders purposely bid reserve but not really from anybody that is senior. The flaw in that plan is that seniority only means something in your group. If somebody has more hours than you so far in the month, you will be used before the other guy regardless of how senior you are. At the end of the month everybody has roughly the same amount of usage.

Also, everyone may appear to have similar usage in terms of GTD, but there’s a very big variance in people’s TAFB, which can be minimized with a good bid. |

Unlike Delta and United where new hires get a wide range of base and aircraft choices (including widebodies) right out of class, you will get 737 or A320 in LGA and MIA with a hope and a prayer you get the base you want within your first year. This was the last class drop:
MIA FO 737 I - 5 LGA FO 737 D - 17 PHL FO 320 I - 6 LGA FO 320 D - 21 As to your point about widebodies, obviously accurate. |

From the company's perspective that could be pretty smart; would potentially increase the percentage of junior folks that vote for a TA. Same thing they tried to do with vacation pay for the senior guys in the last one.
