Whats non-sense about it? I’m hypothesizing what will likely happen here given the statements and actions of AA management. Do you really think AA will be a global airline that has a network that even remotely resembles that of Delta/United? If so what leads you to believe that?

Ha way to pick and choose what I wrote. I quoted Robert Isom in yesterdays “state of the airline” town hall meeting for AA employees. He stated unequivocally that we would not be focusing on long haul international like our competitors. Will it still exist? Sure. But don’t ever expect anything close to the type of widebody flying that United/Delta do.
Something to be aware of for anybody that wants to make AA a career.

Delta only has 111 true widebodies in their fleet. 767-4,330s and 350s. They do have 18 330-900s still on order and 16 350-900s. This info is coming directly from Deltas fleet information dated December 2022.
I believe AA has 113 WB AC? With 25-30 787s still on order? I don't know how many new ones they took in Q4. But I believe they took 9 in q3 from the order of 42 total.

The reason I’m not answering your question is because it’s a stupid question. Child like in fact. Will we have a global network in the future comparable to Delta and United? I don’t know can a hippo beat a rhino in a fight?
What I know is this. We currently have 122, combination of 777/787s in the fleet. 34 more 787s on order bringing the eventual total to 156 G4 wide bodies. And despite even my own speculation, the head on network planning just recently said that the old 777-2s are staying, and that he really likes how they’re configured. There are also 50 XLRs coming, which although may not be a shiny wide body, they will be part of our “global network” in the near future.
From all of this your take away if that we’ll be a domestic airline similar to Spirit. But what else could I expect from you you based on your post history. Like I said, we need to have a better selection process here for our flow though hiring. Minimum education requirement is a must.

We have 47 777-200’s and 20 -300’s. The 200’s are on their way out, that’s a fact. Leaving us with 20 777-300’s. The 787 does not and cannot compare to a 777. FACT. Robert Isom stated yesterday they are focusing on domestic and short haul international routes. FACT. The XLR’s are nothing more than a narrow body aircraft that will be stretched to its limits. From a pilot career perspective, it will be akin to more transcon flying. FACT. Now, I saw you mentioned to a previous poster “when’s the bankruptcy.” Really shows how clueless you are when you resort to insults and snide remarks that have nothing to do with the argument at hand.
I’ll go ahead and clear things up for you on my end.
1. I don’t see a bankruptcy in the near future. In fact I think AA is very healthy financially.
2. We will never be a global dominant airline with this current leadership. Considering all promotions have come from within in recent past, I don’t see this changing.
3. I am a flow through and have been a pilot in the AA system for over 15 years. I also have a bachelors degree so I guess in terms of your minimum education requirement we all need masters?
4. I am not going to leave for Delta or United. I live in base and have very good seniority progression considering the timing of my career. If I have one regret it’s not applying to delta or United a few years back. That’s on me.

When are the -200s out? 2025? 2030?
As of a month or so ago, the long range plan calls for the first of the 47 772s to start leaving around 2030. Boeing getting their act together with 787 deliveries could accelerate that a bit. Another black swan event could as well. The “top men” we spoke to claim the company regrets retiring the 332s but won’t admit that mistake in public. They need every asset to generate revenue and get the debt load down, and retiring a paid-for asset in the near term would be idiotic, even for this incompetent management team.
Everyone knew the second big 787 order was to replace the oldest 772s. I imagine there will be another top off 787 order to replace the remaining 772s at some point.
You’re not wrong that, unless we see a new management regime, AA will lag UAL in terms of WBs. That said, if you aren’t really young, you’ll never see a WB CA at any of the legacies. Too many people already hired. I’d say you’d be best off going to FedEx, but they aren’t hiring.
