About 9 years. 5-6 years.

Keep in mind that these are the numbers right now. There will be lots of movement over the next 10 years.

With zero change in widebody numbers and current trends remaining the same, A 2013 hire is looking at a WB CA spot at around 15 years. That number will go down quite a bit for people hired between 2014-2018,

Since we are taking deliveries of 787's, I would say that there are in fact changes in Widebody numbers. Also, there was a year gap in hiring that we will hit soon, and will instantly drop the time to hold Widebody by over a year when it hits.

well I was speaking in the hypothetical “neutral state of things” because otherwise any other prediction of seniority progression based off growth is just a wild *** guess

And sure there was Covid hiring pause but there is going to be massive differences in seniority progression for someone hired in 2021 vs today

As a commuter I get the privilege to test out different flying in the NB system. 4 days are becoming the norm at every base because it squeezes the P/C out. Turns are still around but are becoming an endangered animal that is going away.

Sequences that start on Mondays and Tuesdays are also going the way of the dodo bird. I am very senior in seat and I have seen my QOL go down even though my seniority has skyrocketed the last 2 years.

I look at some of the junior CA lines and I feel sorry for them. I know I shouldn’t because they did it to themselves but I still do. I had a junior to me CA keep telling me to upgrade but literally in the next breath told me his wife is ****ed he is missing all his daughters volleyball games. Said she is really on his butt over it. Hard pass

random day in april
clt 737: 3/20 sequences are turns (6 x 4 day or greater)
clt 320: 3/70 (31 x 4 day or greater)
Dfw 737: 9/48 (17 x 4 day or greater)
dfw 320: 2/15

Lga 737 int: 0/11
lga 737 dom: 1/17

dca 737: 2/12 (5 x 4 day or greater)

ord 738: 5/35 (12 x 4 day or greater)

takes 3-4 turns to equal a 4 day.

There is no true min day. Just an averaged out gut punch to your monthly credit value!!

AND!! The pay clock does not start until the parking brake is released and stops when the brake is set.

Absolutely horrific (in the context of first world airline problems).

Great people, great equipment and a contract that is so anti pilot that it is astonishing.
See if I'm understanding this correctly. First day of a four day if you have a 2 hour flight you don't get MDG of 5 for that day? You fly more on the remaining 3 days to get 18 hours block and you credit 20 for the 4 day trip? Does that mean AA trips are usually straight block = straight credit?

AA has many rigs. Two of which are:

ACD (average calendar day) = 5:15
MCD (min calendar day) = 2:00

MCD is rarely a factor. ACD killed a lot of easy turns. Now they are bonus laps to begin or end a multi-day. Most trips are over ACD rig. Quality of trips is highly base and month dependent.

on the NB the daily average credit value for all trips in March ranged from 5:24-5:57, depending on the base.
