Yes, very little soft time in our pairings. The company has become experts in squeezing every bit of value out of its pilots. Really, the only way to make soft money at AA is through Premium (and OG if on reserve).

Hi guys!
When can I expect DFW FO 320 or 737 base? And how long for CA upgrade?

Any advice on how long to get to CLT after training if someone isn't picky about which plane they start on?

looks like 1st available bid gave it to people hired in 10/2022. They will be in base as early as April. So maybe a month or two of actual waiting in there new hire base.

a few hires in November got in class

Sequences that start on Mondays and Tuesdays are also going the way of the dodo bird. I am very senior in seat and I have seen my QOL go down even though my seniority has skyrocketed the last 2 years.
This type of behavior can be changed with contract language. Not just sequence construction limits either.

United?

That is some serious disparity.
Keep in mind that system wide there are 461 777 Captains and 452 787 Captains. That's 913 out of a total of 14,827 pilots. And of those bottom junior folks on the WB most are out of seniority for the bid status...around 3200 being the current lowest. Lots of NB guys waiting for lineholder seniority on the WB I guess. Retirements vs. Growth definitely. I would not recommend AA for WB flying unless you are very patient and dont mind being based out of NY or MIA. Good airline QOL for a price...most definitely a commute for most. Guessing about 2/3 do but it could be more.

I upgraded basically the first chance I could knowing the movement is so fast. Yes, my QOL has taken a hit but it had already been subpar. I used to work all 3 day trips and then that slid into all 4 days and partial weekends despite sitting less than 40% as an FO in base. Figured might as well make money and always fly with my favorite captain. It’s been nice to also talk to the FO about having kids my kids age instead of him having grandkids my kids age. You can also make the time you need, especially on reserve, for important life events.

FO movement is getting slower at DFW (on the 737).

Just hit my 8 month review. Through March, I am still at 99%. I'll be at 98% next month - forecasting 95% by June.

Still too junior at DFW to hold long call or a line.

If movement is what your looking for- pick a different base.
