im not gonna argue for or against IMAX. IMAX is a part of our contract and if you choose to use it or not is your decision. All I can say is for a couple months a year I credit a lot more than most (not fly more, CREDIT more) and end up with anywhere from 2-4 months off.
I am always (like most IMAX folks) willing to share with people how I do it. But I also understand that most people choose to not learn. There’s a reason that those in leadership want to hang onto it though so it’s not going anywhere.

I'm arguing that for a tiny minority of the group's benefit we lose in other places. Instead of just flat out trading it for something else in negotiations we are going to try to hold on to it while the company slowly but surely whittles away at it. 14+ day sick credit for example. At the end it'll be useless to everyone but a select few statuses and we will have gotten nothing for it.
Our horrendous sick accrual/disbursment in the AIP(no changes to current book) is a direct effect of IMAX.

Missing the point. I'm not arguing against using IMAX as it stands today. It's there. Have at it.

I don’t disagree with the notion that things could be improved but to blame it on things like IMAX is disingenuous. There is only so much blood you can get from a turnip and IMAX actually takes very little of it. This AIP isn’t a grand slam but it’s a bases loaded triple that turning down would a huge mistake.

14+ day has nothing to do with IMAX. How can you be so sure there’s a connection between sick accrual and IMAX? How do you know we didn’t give up sick accrual for industry leading LTD and reducing the waiting period from 90 days to 60?

that’s not really how it works. The 14+ to my understanding is 14 CONSECUTIVE days. If you’re doing IMAX you can’t do that much sick in a row. So no the 14+, if my understanding is correct has nothing to do with IMAX.

Current contract lets people choose within a range how much sick they use when they go out on long term sick. When they come back off long term sick they are IMAXed for a month or two if they took their sick smartly. That’s what the company is protecting itself against.

and that’s not what I’m talking about. We’re talking about two completely different situations.

there’s IMAX that happens because of things like training and long term sick or unusual things like that and there is using IMAX to your advantage throughout the year to have several months off of your choosing. So yes while they fall under the same title they are decidedly different.
