Did I read that correctly, 18 months to see the new pay raises if one has not been on property for 12 years?

No you didn’t. You’re confusing realignment of pay anniversary date to DOH for those who are not topped out (12 years) on pay yet, and DOS contractual pay raises. The company has 18 months to realign your pay anniversary to DOH from current LOE date, if you’re still under 12 years on property of course. New hires get this right away, there’s nothing to realign.

You’re getting a ~21% raise on DOS.

It's interesting that some of the base reps say this is the best the negotiating team can do, but are going to vote no. So............ who's going to do better? The APA and their negotiator professional pilots dealing with the NMB and going up against real professionals hired by the company.... again I'm sure the negotiating team worked really hard to get this, but they were out matched the second they entered the room for negotiations. This TA falls pathetically short on QOL enhancements, but lets be realistic, this is the best the APA can get. You can blame management, but Isom has made it clear his number one priority above all else, even on time, is making money and paying off debt. There are worst things to aim for. Until this place gets a better union I don't see much improvement, but I'll be long gone by then.

Which is still a huge give to the company. Why would they give them 18 months to implement one of the simplest items to implement? That's an 18 month 0% loan to the company on whatever that implementation cost is.

Yes, but a lot of FNGs will be waiting an additional 4-6 months to get their second year pay despite being on property 16-18 months, and possibly again for third year pay if they use all of the grace.

That seems like an awful long time to sort out something pretty basic. I’m sure the e-notificarion will be ready considerably before that.

It’s not a deal breaker, but it’s 5 digits worth of pay many will be shorted if they delay what should be a simple set of computer commands by even 2 months.

I think the guys you’re mentioning with 4-6 months wait are an extreme example, probably last summers new hires due to the training pipeline debacle. The typical pilot here has about 2 months between DOH and Pay raise anniversary. And those guys who waited 18 months to get year 2 pay are not going to have to wait that long again for year three. Just 12 months. The delay only happens once, not every year.

I don’t know why they can’t just realign everyone on DOS, it seems like a very simple fix. Scratch that of course I know why. The company can save a buck. Its a shame we even have to fix something like that in the first place, but atleast it’s finally done with and no new hire will ever have to consider it again.

To be clear to any outsider. There is no delay in the TA pay raises. This is a weird pay date anniversary thing that we have here specific to AA. The company just has 18 month to change every active pilot’s anniversary date from checkride date, to DOH. Doesn’t apply to new hires or those already above year 12.

No street captains but forced upgrades in LGA and possibly MIA will be happening next year based on how quickly captain time is dropping. Forced upgrades goes to the most junior pilots that have the required 1,000 hrs 121 time so in theory someone that just finished FO IOE could be forced upgraded. Idk if the new TA changed any of this.

The BoD comment letters are.........Not very in favor.

A couple "sell jobs" and a couple "sky is falling." The others were factual and gave both pros and cons. It's a good place to start before just reading this thing from start to finish like a book.
