If you're in your mid 20's and spend time scouring Airline Forums (let alone other airlines' threads) yelling at middle aged bs'ers, I feel like youre missing out on a butt ton of life. And by that I mean girls (or guys, whatever). If mid 20's me was arguing on airline forums, I'd kick my own ass.

Edit: I realize that was kind of insensitive. But come on man. You guys look hilarious with your hats sitting on your nose and tight pants with cowboy boots. We can all have a laugh at each other and still be friends.

Thanks to being able to have a ghost account at Widget Seniority, it was an easy decision for me to stay at AA after being here for 4 months than go to DAL. I'd have been the plug right now with ~600 pilots under me there, and there are 2300 under me here.

 

So where are we in terms of what CJO dates are getting what class dates? I'm a mid February CJO wondering when I may hear something.

Evaluating May classes
Summer classes are unknown if they will run classes or take the seasonal break

Pilots deferring classes are being told September/October.

If they run summer classes you might get a call
If they don’t, Fall.

 

Yup, some of these junior DAL guys forget that anyone can access Widget Seniority...there's no hiding the facts. Everyone has to pick the right path for them and their families, there's nothing wrong with being stuck as the plug at a place like DAL or waiting for 8-10 years for junior upgrade, BUT lying about the reality of the situation is absurd. The arrogance of some of their (particularly post-covid) hires never ceases to amaze me - not sure if that's an intentional part of their hiring process or if it's just a side effect of their propoganda machine.

We all do the same job, looking back in 20 years most people will care more about the course of their career and how it affected thier families vs the 2025 brand image of their company and how happy the shareholders were.

To get back on topic - seems like the first round of 2025 new hires have been finishing up IOE this week. Still no official word on whether classes will be run this summer. To everyone with a CJO - it's not uncommon or any cause for concern if classes aren't run between June and August. Likely just means they want all hands on deck for summer flying.
