As for the 789P that this thread was started on, I read upthread they are getting 11 in 2025. AA has only indicated 8 for this year. 4 have been delivered. 2 more are sitting at PAE where official delivery/hand over occurs, likely soon. 2 additional frames are in CHS in pre-flight prep phase. That makes 8. 3 more have line assignments but haven't started assembly yet. 4 (including those 3 with line assignments) are expected in 2026 and then 3 more in 2027 for a total of 15. The remaining 15 will come in 2028 and beyond according to published AA info.

The 777-300 has got at least 10 more years at AA, if not more. They are all going in for a cabin refurb with the new business and PE seating like on the 789P and forthcoming XLRs. Isom said in a November 2024 industry event that AA is looking at the 777-200 future to see what the best options are but as of now there is no indication on how much longer that variant will be the fleet. I doubt we'll get much more info on future fleet strategy other than what we already know in the July 24 Q2 earnings announcement.
