Do you get a chance while in base to call sick or fatigue... so that you can actually go home?
That really blows. I can't believe they would allow this in the contract. I guess I'll stop complaining about us being A3 for that last deadhead back to base.

I did call in fatigued for yesterday last night. I;m still flying tonight for 16 days in a row. I called the chief pilot yesterday, after 3 attempts I got through.
I probably had a really good case to call in fatigued for tonight also. And if I pushed it, I could be off until tomorrow.
My understanding LGA (JFK) base the sick calls come in early. MIA not so much.
My 2nd trip of the 4 trips i'm doing now was very very short notice because a GRU-JFK flt diverted into MIA. They had no-one on a RAP, so they reassigned a line holder to fly MIA-JFK 777 RON DHD home the next day. He got paid for a 4 day, I got assigned his FB 4 day. Upon retuning form that 4 day I was assigned another 4 day, the another 4 day (tonight).
I spoke with the head of Prof Standards this morning about numerous issues, he teased me he's on 16 days off! LOL He is an old friend of mine.

I would and will if I am.
One more time: I called in fatigued for last night. I got back from EZE at 0401. They had me flying to GRU at 2230. I called in fatigued. They called me at 1pm ish yesterday afternoon and Junior manned me for EZE at 830 tonight.
The point of this thread is to compare notes with USAir pilots and AA pilots about reserve systems.

Not quite, you can be used the same day once you've gotten your required rest in domicile.
