About 20-30 new hires went West this past Spring and Early Summer, but I don't think anyone has gone recently. They have a bid open right now. It could create some openings out there. Movement is very slow on the West side.

PHX is a toilet full of radioactive turds.

It is a career ender.

You have been warned.

PHX is just fine if you are a new hire. Everyone has been super nice and very laid back. Some of these guys will never let this East/West thing go and that is their problem. If you get PHX because you want it great. Just know that the movement is slow like was stated, and you will not be able to bid anywhere else until the merger is complete. It is a perfect fit for me as I live here and don't have to commute. AS far as the statement above, that is just the vitriol some of these people have and will always have for each other. I let it go in one ear and out the other and has no bearing on me.

Good attitude to have. While PHX has been stagnate for years, the SLI with AA will finally solve that problem. Regardless of the SLI outcome, PHX will become just another base in the new AA. Many there will finally be able to bid out, and will, and others will bid in... I wouldn't let the past problems in PHX influence anyone's decision...

Thanks for all the info on LUS and Phx. I'm very far from crossing those roads but I was just interested because I live in AZ. Hopefully the merger will be resolved sooner than later and if I'm lucky to get hired I'll just be a FNG that is happy to be employed.
Hopefully F2F invites start going out by end of the month.

For those waiting in any point of the process, BE PATIENT. Yes, days and probably weeks will go by from each step in the interview process to getting a solid class date to getting the travel information to INDOC to your Ground School start date. The pilot recruitment team and the INDOC ladies are doing multiple other jobs at the same time and are doing their best to get information out when it becomes available. I know it seems like an eternity in between steps, trust me... But know the team are doing their best to process everything in a timely and efficient manner. Hang in there and keep plugging away at your current job until you get the next step in the process and then keep waiting again. IT is worth the wait, even if it drives you crazy in the process.

Newhires off the street into widebodies. 6 months to long call call reserve 8 to a line. Captain upgrade in 12 months.

Not in PHX. Added 20 pilots out there all last year.

First ORD drop I've seen. Any idea if it went junior or senior?

Junior I believe. Probably due to it being the S80.

Sounds to me like the best career move those PHX pilots could've made would be to quit and then apply with hopes of being hired to the east.
