Yes, I think that is unfair. We all know this is true. I'm not talking anything about being a better pilot or stick and rudder guy cause I've flown with both many times , some are great, some are the next accident waiting to happen.
But a common thread is true what I wrote above regarding hiring preference. So yes I too can understand why one would be sour. It's easy to see the world trough rose colored glasses but if you take them off for a minute you would see that on paper, clearly the guy FLYING an airliner should be the one getting the nod considering all things are equal and even more so if the guy that is a current 121 Captain even more so

Interesting to see all the military guys band together. I feel your frustration Olympus. It is true, a military guy whose flown fighters, tankers, whatever is highly more likely to get an invite even when compared to a guy who flies an airliner day in and day out.

Current class is over 2/3 Part 121 and the rest Mil. Nobody is being left out. Be patient and keep a good attitude. Remember there are 11,000 plus applications in file. It might be a while, especially when they are only hiring 50/month.
Also remember that as someone doing hiring, they have no way to quantify your training if you've come up the civilian route. There are a million different ways to get into flying outside of the military as well as a million different training programs and check airmen. UPT is for the most part a very reliable source for pilots.
I've done both and there are major differences. The company is looking for people who will be a return on investment along with being safe. On paper that would make them lean to the guy who received over a million dollars in flight training in very high performance aircraft.
Just sayin,
Best of luck to everyone. 2015 is going to be a good year!
Please don't let this turn into a MIL vs CIV bashing thread hijack

Do the class date assignments come via email or phone call? I was in the mid-Sept interview group, so I'm expecting a class date soon, but I'll be out of the country for the next 3 weeks starting Sunday. Just trying to figure out if I need to update them with my international phone number.

I've been checking my email for several months and haven't received any word good or bad. I've been updating my app after every trip and everything still in the green. Does this mean just wait your turn? Also, a lot of guys are bailing Envoy and going to the Frontiers and Blues. I'm ready to get out as well. My goal has always been AA; should I leave and go to a Frontier or Blue so I can get to AA faster or just sit tight?

For example, I was really hoping to go to United for the Denver domicile. I had my app in for two years, went to a job fair, had 6 internal LOR's etc. I never got the call even after leaving the AF and flying for US Airways. Glad I took this job, wasn't my first choice, but it's a good gig and I'm staying now as I'll likely be way better off here in terms of upgrades, and my retirement number. United has hired a lot of people since I've been here and many are likely younger than me.
I've met lots of guys like me that commute out of a hub for an airline they'd of liked to work for but never got the call...
