American interviews and class dates

Congrats! I had all of that and more (ADO, DO, Chief of Group Stan Eval, Chief Pilot, etc.) and never heard a peep. My name must just be mud, because I haven't heard from any legacy, but I do believe sheer dumb luck might just be the biggest factor in all in getting a call to interview.

The feb 12 group was just sent a "hold on" email. Anyone have a clue why they can't give the guys who interviewed 12 Feb an answer now? It's one thing to wait for training/indoc but another to wait another 4 months just to hear if you got the job. I lack the perspective of running an airline, but.....really?!

I interviewed in mid Sept and just got an email apologizing for the long wait for class and saying that new hires were recently reduced due to a high number of flow throughs and recalls. Is that the same email the Feb 12 group got? If so, I'd take that as a good sign. I doubt you'll have to wait until summer for a job offer, but maybe 4 months for a class date might be realistic.

I was commenting on some guys that thought getting this or getting that on their resume would prompt a call. Not to be egotistical, but I'm not really sure what more I could put on my resume that would help get a call from a legacy, and I haven't heard a thing. Except from United and I wasn't available to go to the interview. Haven't heard a peep from Delta and that's with three internal recs, haven't heard from American. I really attribute the call from a legacy carrier, right now, as a lot of luck, right place, right time. In a few years, that may change.
I let my AirlineApps account lapse, didn't want to have to pay for the fourth year if I wasn't going to hear from Delta, so the only app I currently have out there is American.
It would take something drastic to give up the quality of life I've got here at Spirit to leave to go to anywhere, but from what I'm reading, it may be a moot point since the guys who are in the pool at American are now being pushed back later. Good luck to them, hope they hear calls very soon, but I haven't even been asked to do the video interview, let alone the face to face.

As I recall, back when Delta started getting backed up, it could take nearly 6 months to get a class date. Unfortunately that's how it goes sometimes. They have to give the recall guys a class date first, along with the flows. So the street hires are the most "flexible" piece of the hiring puzzle. Sorry guys. Hope you get a seat soon.

Well that's good...I know that some of the guys who got in early at Spirit are doing pretty well. I went to one of their job fairs since I want to be based in the Dallas area, but got hired here and never looked back.

Sorry to hear. At least you are getting in at a good time and you will like it here. Just hang in there....
