"Thank you for your interest in our Pilot position. Unfortunately, you’ve not been selected to move forward at this time. You are, however, eligible to check back with us in 6 months to see if your status has changed.

Thank you again for your interest.

American Airlines"

I've applied and this is the first contact/email I've received. No video interview, etc. Anybody else get this email?

Same situation here! Even have some good internal recs. so I'm thinking this is all automated response or something? Maybe they just want to see how awesome I get in 6 months haha

I got the same email today. Ironically, using the same resume I sent AA, I'm interviewing with Airways next month. I had zero internal recs at Airways, but several at AA.

Got the TBNT too. Still able to access the pilotinterviews so I'll keep it updated just in case. At the current rate of hiring I guess 6 mo won't amount to that many.

Hope you're right about the automated response. I have a solid connection that told me I was being considered so that would fit...

I have heard from a good source that prior to advancing (in this case getting video interview invite) the 1)computer must pick 2)you must have passed that job assessment.

When did all of you get this email?

Frankly surprised I have not got one yet. Sorry to hear but 6 months flies by, at least its not a year.

I wonder if they're doing this "USAir" style. Meaning, they took a "snapshot" and sent them out.

However, wondering if it means;

1) The person didn't even make it through the app screening process, wasn't even looked at, or;

2) The app was actually looked at from the THOUSANDS on file and wasn't selected at this time/round.

Sorry to hear about the TBNT guys... hang in there. If this boom is anything like the late 80's early 90's, it'll go on for a long time, big classes every month, and the leading edge of the boom will not subside for quite a while.

Who knows… I don't think pilot credential works like the system at US though. These people were either looked at after the computer picked them out, then for some reason they were not chosen to continue, OR they did not pass the assessment and were chosen to not continue. I think with the latter possibility there would be far more emails generated and brings me to wonder why they were not sent out almost immediately after failing the test. Or of course, a total mistake and someone accidentally hit the wrong button after a few cocktails while working from home?

So I am going with the first scenario, I think the system selected these names as competitive applicants, and for some reason did not go on to the next step, hence getting the TBNT email.

I think there would be far more emials going out if it was sent to all who did not pass that assessment.

Only opinion. Am I crazy?
