MIA 737I. 28 reserve lines. 21 have 4 sets of time off, 7 have 3 breaks.

If you have 3 breaks they'll be 2-6 days off each.
If you have 4 breaks they'll be 2-4 days off.

No trading of days off. What you see is what you get.

'G' - Golden days can't be touched ( ie you drop dead at midnight the night before).

M - moveable at the company's choice and not yours.

Non- golden day they can fly you until noon. So the first day off isn't guaranteed off unless it's a G (golden) day.

Should be made official this afternoon. Rumor is more of a mix for this class.

Why can't AA move reserve days? Its a simple call to future scheduling for us on the east reserve. I've gotten weekends off easily when I didn't previously.

They can fly you until noon on your day off?

What kind of garbage contract is this? Even some of the worst regionals out there are better than this. Sad to say that mainline needs to start looking at regionals to see how to negotiate better things in their contracts because this is crazy.

Our old contract you are allowed to trade reserve days with yourself. Hardly ever done.
At AA we do not have a futures Crew Sched.
If you call crew sched this month about anything next month they will LAUGH at you. And then say NO!
If you call your flt office like MIA and remember the sizzle sells the steak! "Hi, i'm really junior and can't get any days off that I need next month, may I trade this for this days?" The lady in office will take your request run it by the chief and then call you back.
IF I WAS A NEWHIRE I WOULD NOT DO THIS! Some things don't change at AA.
AND FIRST DAY OF NEW MONTH ON FLY THRU IS NEVER GUARANTEED OFF.

I am a 777 FO back on reserve. I'm sort of senior reserve now. But I am on reserve from 23 Feb 0700 until NONSTOP 8 March. They will hope that i get 30 off in 168 in GRU LHR EZE. Only if I don't at the very last minute will they take my moveable day off from 27 March.

Most junior reserve pilots cannot get ANY days off they need. I was that guy for a year and a half. It gets to you after awhile.

For this reason only I favor PBS for reserve pilots. But we need to get language on the JCBA 30 off in 168 MUST be in base.

Then only will we see 6 on 2,3,4 off. Rather than my FEB-MAR schedule which is 23 Feb- 8 Mar 13 days on reserve in a row and the reward is 4 days off. Woo Hoo!!!

While we do have a commuter policy...Do not forget you are on probation. If at all possible pack up your wife, kids, mother in law and gerbil and do the 1 year TDY-Probation. Then go home, and begin your commuting career.

I would not want to have to explain a commuting hickup on reserve at THIS airline.

Sincere advice.

You have no idea. Never in my wildest dreams did I imagine the RAH contract would be superior to anything but it is in the reserve sections.
