APA definitely has some serious issues, I'll agree. There are multiple internal issues here that have alienated many AA pilots, especially those junior. They haven't excelled in dealing effectively with them either.

Not too much. The TWA CC debacle will never die and LOS is a major concern of furloughees. The whole BK claim situation is an ongoing mess, there's serious concern about paternalism from the leadership regarding membership control of the leadership and a few other issues I won't discuss here.

This carriers pilot group us like most others where the "union" and the "pilots" can actually be two different identities. What APA does may not necessarily be what the pilots collectively want them to do, plus there's an insidious belief that the "union" has a relationship with management that is counter-productive to the interests of the pilots.

I see a lot of similarity in the union I left (ALPA Eagle) and the union I joined (APA) and much of it is unhealthy.

Crap... that describes my ALPA pilot group too....

At least I belong to a real voice on CapHill and IFALPA....

Care join forces together? One big dysfunctional group against management?

[QUOTE=Saabs;1560444Followed up by a Usapa email that goes straight to the trash.[/QUOTE]

So you just trash all of USAPA 's emails? That's great. Two of my friends have busted their rears all last year on the scheduling committee working on 117 and other issues. Perhaps you would like to volunteer.

Separate the wheat from the chaff.

See I already know the answer to this question and usually only ask questions for which I know the answers. I might agree somewhat with your assessment regarding the east west battle. Remember, never in the history of aviation has any pilot group done what usapa has done. Air Wisconsin fought against and arbitration but let it go after some time. Usapa has fought to the death to not have to honor their obligation and that my friend will leave a stain on the name of USAIR from now until forever.

Usapa was born out of cheating and stealing. They sought to divide rather than unite. Pilots have almost lost careers because they refused to pay usapa for what we were NOT getting. Usapa has produced nothing in its existence other than extreme hatred. Now I realize that you have not lived in our nightmare but trust me when I tell you that we can paint the picture for you and it ain't pretty at all.

USAPA was born of the transition agreement. The one that AWA pilots (I believe you said you personally) had a hand in crafting.

R57 Relay... since you are an USAPA apologist... can you quantify the amount of money CAs and FOs lost at USAIRways monthly due to the entire mess?

At a min, USAIRways pilots should know this figure.

I'm not a USAPA apologist. At times I have been one of their biggest critics. I just counter the never ending stream of BS about what happened.

What was lost depends on the pilot. For me and those a year or do junior to me it was probably negligible because we got our Capt bid back vs likely not under the Nic. For senior pilots it's a large amount. That's all a guess and based on the awful Kirby proposal.

Have you ever heard "Why is divorce so expensive? Because it's worth it" A lot of guys feel that way. I think we would have all been better off to come up with another solution, but we didn't.
