I think he might have been comparing the fact that TWA was failing to the fact US was about to liquidate.

Pathetic whiners. Sure you can stay another 30 days. Sign an apology for acting out of your authority during negations and sign a non-disclosure agreement to continue for your last 30 days with a promise to be professional.

Wouldn't they have to agree to accepting credit for time served on furlough for the East guys too?
Credit for time on furlough is basically the same thing as straight DOH, unless one is suggesting a partial credit for time on furlough.

Usually folks mean active time is LOS.

USAir does not give any credit for time on furlough accept Non-Rev seniority, and I guess that is gone with the new Non-Rev policy of first come first serve.

Get your popcorn!

I think I'll retract this one. Even though I was trying to be funny, liquidation isn't funny. I know both companies saved each other.

"Its a horror movie" was a joke.

Buy the extra large popcorn, its a really long movie.

I have long expected that the end result will be like UAL/CAL with large weighting for the APA wide bodies.

Under the new MOU we no longer have "third listers". We have two lists at USAir and I am happy to argue relative position all the way up and down. Most if not all of the so called third listers should be senior to the junior West guys, and only our newest hires in the last year should be mixed in with the junior guys on the West and APA.

But what do I know. I'm just along for the ride and enjoying every new bid that comes out as we wait.
Third list pilots should NOT be senior to any West pilots.

I highly doubt USAPA will attempt to do this.

BTW: LOS = Length of Service, i.e., credit for time served on furlough.

The example would be a guy with 6 years on property but is currently furloughed being given credit for the 6 years he had been active versus a 3 year active pilot at the other merger partner.

In some SLIs the furloughed pilots are placed below active pilots, in others the time on active service is taken into consideration. It all depends on the circumstances and the way the arbitrator looks at the facts.
Mink, cactusmike is correct. LOS is only a total of a pilots active period(s) of employment.
