Fastest QOL?

I would agree that most people are flocking to Delta because its better for them. In my situation AA is better for me if they offer me a LUS slot.

That's true, I flew the 88 in ATL and Im now on the 717 in NYC so I was able to give my take on both airplanes. My dream is to be based in PHL because I live nearby so Im just patiently waiting for my class date

Being in PHL (at least unless it gets 'muerican'd) should bode for a very senior in short order career!(I'll enjoy watching from the outside that seniority list integration!)

Hey everyone, being AA specific. How hard is it to get MIA and how long till holding a line. I live within 1:15 of MIA door to door. Are there any opportunities to pick up extra trips etc.
Fairly new to this process and would appreciate some good advice.
Thanks,

I'm not overly familiar with the LAA reserve system (the one we're going to), but LUS reserves can't pick up trips.

It's luck of the draw getting MIA from indoc. It's almost always there but there's no guarantee.
I talked with the manning guy a month ago. He said FO's aren't bidding MIA Airbus so at the time it looks like there might be a fairly constant stream into MIA from the newhire pool. Obviously subject to change at anytime.
Some FO's will start bidding it when they realize how senior they'll be on the AB vs. being on reserve on the 737 or 757/767. But the trip quality is pretty poor right now. As the flying increases the quality should(hopefully?) improve.
Pick up on reserve? No.
Offer to fly on days off? Yes. Don't know how often it happens.
Pick up as a lineholder? Or trade trips? Happens all the time.
How long to hold a line in MIA? Looking back is easy, future prognosis is tougher -
MIA AB newhires from October held lines in Jan. I think they're still in the schoolhouse.
767I - Jan 2014 newhire is 11 away from holding a line.
737I - Jan 2014 newhires are 45-50 away from holding a line.
757/767 is drawing down company wide and MIA is not immune to that.
AB is the fastest growing bid status in MIA. If I was trying to guess at the quickest way to hold a line I'd go that route. But the trips aren't that great.
