Long call is 12 hours. Short call is a 'reasonable' time to the airport, which of course means different things to different people.

The company is currently trying to tighten short call up, which is what generated Saabs' response.

And there's a solid chance we'd lose it in arbitration too. Jus sayin...

I'm a total outsider on the US System so I'm trying to educate myself before class starts but is it true that if you are DCA based you actually are covering multiple airports? If that's the truth then I assume a Crashpad car is a requirement.

Please don't take this as an attack because it's not -

Have you not listened to any calls?

Have you called your reps?

Have your emailed your reps ?

We can keep the green book.

We CANNOT lose what we currently have.

No, on the LUS side, DCA is just DCA. It used to be IAD also years ago, but we no longer have co-domiciles. We don't even have mainline service into IAD anymore. On the LAA side, DCA covers DCA, IAD and BWI. However, the majority of flying is out of DCA.

Thank you very much for clearing that up for me! Excited to start in a few weeks and to see the direction the company goes.

Yes and no, but apparently not enough to know that certain cost-neutral items were off the table. Whatever though, I don't get a vote anyway...

Everything biigD said is spot on. I'm really glad I went the 190 route. I have classmates who are still on short call at CLT, and the DCA/PHL guys are on long call. Meanwhile I've held a line since August, get weekends off and even managed to SAP (schedule adjust) two weeks off at Christmas.

I was fortunate enough to bid off the 190 such that I'll only have two weeks of 2nd year 190 rates then get the AB rates. But there is some luck involved in that.

I don't mind the flying, but don't know any different since I was an AF fighter pilot. I am looking forward to the AB, and maybe I'll change my mind about the 190 flying after flying that for a while.

Feel free to PM me for specifics.
