Nice attempt at spin, but your localizer needle is full scale deflection on this one.

Let me speak straight – our current term sheet calls for about 400 pilots to be furloughed in 2012,

Exactly... Its why the APA doesn't do arbitration and its why anyone with half a brain knows the APA doesn't want to do an arbitration this time either. The courts may eventually compel them, but its not absurd to suggest the APA may eventually discover a way to settle it without going to arbitration.

In the meantime, "unfortunate" delay is an excellent benefit (strategy).

"No offense, but I always find it interesting when Usapians argue potentially detrimental FACTUAL aspects of this merger that have the potential to dilute their SLI interests then resort to a "team" philosophy and then when they identify (or defend) aspects they believe are in their favor, individuality returns. "

Eaglefly- Flybywire is not a hardened USAPian......he's a third list pilot and totally unaffected by the prior East/West jihad. However, he has an interest in this as a combined group, going forward. He, like most other third listers, are looking to get this done right, such that the combined airline yields a sturdy career for us all. Something FAR stronger than an independent USAir, America West, or American could have ever hoped to be.

Yup. That's what management does when negotiating with pilots, especially Horton (which is why we ran to your nemesis for a reach around). It's called "applying leverage". I'm confident the arbitrators won't factor in management threats into their SLI formula, but tell your pals they're free to try.

Fbw has made statements in the past regarding how he feels. When faced with debate from either a west pilot or regarding APA or AA pilots, USAPA is his friend. He can still back them albeit grudgingly when his seniority interests are in play. Nothing personal, just business. I can't take at face value someone who flies East aircraft and is a USAPA dues paying member who claims he's not an East pilot.

I'm sorry.

This is a message board for entertainment. Clamoring here about who is "serious" and who isn't "serious" is comical.

Every member here is free to perceive any other member as they so choose. Only a devout Usapian such as yourself would have the expectation that their standard of view should be adopted by all. Keep up the good work.......USAPA is indeed proud of you.
