Total number of newhires
Can anyone post the total number of new-hires at AA, US-West, and US-East, since the merger got announced on Feb 14 2013?
I'm not sure how this works with flows, furloughs, etc... I'm looking for the number of how many should all fall junior to pilots on one of the lists when the merger got announced.

UAL, DAL, the legendary US Airways Nic-award all used the merger announcement date.
Why would the wheel be reinvented at this point?
The leadership of APA and USAPA are both failing newAmerican pilots. Half of all US Airways pilots will be retired in 6 years. This merger protocol agreement fiasco is very shortsighted. Why are the unions not focusing on a seamless merger to drive growth.
Delta is laughing its way to the bank.

Why would it really matter which date is used? Airways was the only side hiring during that period. If I'm not mistaken, AA's first new hire class in over a decade was right around the POR date...
As far as I can tell US has hired 115 since Jan. 1 and around 330 since the merger announcement in Feb. 2013.

POR was the effective date of the merger. That's what needs to be used. Using the announcement date would be like saying, "Hey man, I'm going to buy your car. Let me go ahead and have it and ill pay you in a few months."
