AA Reserve

AA Reserve
I was hoping some LAA guys/gals could shed a little light on reserve over there.
-how many days working per month?
-hours per month?
-good deal if you live in base?
-do you pick trips the day before?
-number of long call vs short call?
-senior guys bidding it?
Any info would help. Have heard some not so pleasant stories. Hoping to put some of those to rest.

Their RSV system sucks. They fly a lot more. Their schedulers are typically much more antagonistic than ours. They have to call scheduling after a trip to actually be done for the day. But that's what we've got in store regardless of how the vote goes.

So when they finish a trip, they are then still available for further duty that day? That sucks.

RSV system does suck, especially if you commute
Long/short call
73/76 hr guarantee
Trips are "profferred" the day before, within bands and by seniority
Often you just get what they have for you anyway.
I live in base, bid short call, and usually fly 20-30 hrs foe 40-50 projection and 76 pay. Mostly easy stuff that is pieces of broken trips. Doesn't work in all bid status's

During, yes, sure..
After, no
FDP ends at IN time
FAR Rest starts at IN time + :01
Yes, contractual duty period is :15 after IN
Yes, rsvs are required to check for follow-on assignments... There is a whole set of flowcharts for that, AA / APA are positively addicted to complexity
They can notify the crew during flight, but not during sterile period. (No, I don't know how they know, but I do know how I know...)
