I believe we have a right to ***** when our w2's are lower than United and delta's.

Pilots will bee-atch no matter how good they have it. Just in their dna.
Is this as good a deal as united and delta? Nope.
Is this better than what we had? Yep.
Will this put more money in our pockets next year? Yep.
Sure, it's a strategic move. So what? Analyze away. End result is that we increase our earnings, albeit not as lucratively as our brethren. But it's a start.
Small victories folks. I'm in a better mood today than yesterday.
And I'll be standing in line with jcountry to collect your "slap in the face" checks.

The real beauty is they don't have to pay off for a year.
The ROI for Parker with this move is excellent. This is the future, that being a pilot group played like chumps repeatedly because they know nothing else but always, always, always showing the willingness to be blinded by a quick payoff that APPEARS to be free. NOTHING is free with him and we'll experience this again in the future. We are so predictable I don't think he even needs a Jerry anymore.

While we still have plenty of room for improvement, I'll go join the crowd that looks at this as a positive, not a "moment of weakness".

The whole point of the "relief valve" payoff was to put employees in a "better mood". Those with better moods frequently lose their vigilance and the fire in their belly. Looks like with some, Doug, Scott and Jerry scored another home run and given that, I think it will weaken any ALPA consideration here.

That said, I have no problem continuing to strive for a switch to ALPA, as well as hold management accountable for all the contractual failures. I can do all this and still be in a great mood.
Rather than focusing on their strategy behind the profit sharing, I choose to enjoy the extra $$$ while continuing to fight for what we can control.

I must have the rare ability to stay in a very good mood while keeping plenty of "fire in the belly."
......middle stuff...........
