There are no bid lines like this. BUT, if you live in certain bases, like MIA, JFK, ANC, LAX, a lot of those patterns have you coming back to base either directly, or after a night or two, so you get more time at home. Some guys are home 20+ days per month, but you have to be senior to hold those lines. I am ORD 747, and MOST of my patterns are 6-16 days on. This month is a normally abnormal schedule (common situation at Atlas). I have 3 trips: 4 day, 6 days off, 8 day, 8 days off, 3 day, 1 day off. That last day off could change into a work day, depending on what my schedule is for Sep..

I’ve never seen a 2 day trip at Atlas. Not saying they don’t exist, but I’ve never seen it.
I am on the 747, ORD (and before HSV and JFK). I have had one 1 day trip. I had another, but it turned into a two day trip. I have had a number of two day trips. I have had LOTS of 3,4 5 day trips. I've had a handful of 17 or more, depending on how I bid. My longest was 34 days. I bid two trips back-to-back, to get the last two weeks of the second month off. I went on a two week holiday, without using any vacation days. I also had, last year, 7 days off. I was able to bid, and slid my vacation, to turn my 7 days of vacation into 24 days off in a row. And speaking of normally abnormal Atlas schedules, from Nov-Mar of this school year, I operated 12 legs total. Two of them during our "Peak" month of Dec. Crazy.

I was just operating a pax plane, and we used wifi throughout the flight to update the weather on our iPads (except over India, and a few other places). This was on 1of2 of our low-density 747s. The other one was getting wifi installed at the same time. We have 3 different pax configs for the five pax 747s that are operating. The others are parts birds, from what I was told.
I heard that mil pax flying will require wifi...

It is guaranteed to get 13/14 days off per month. It is common to see 14, 15 and even 16 day off schedules in my 747 base. I normally do 6-16 day patterns, but have had a LOT of 3,4,5 day patterns.
We have a new schedule for bidlines, where you can bid for a year schedule of 17 day lines, and know your scheduled days of work (which you might not have to work), for the whole year. That is optional.

If you live in MIA, ANC, LAX, JFK, you can be home a number of days during your pattern, depending on your bidline. Some of those pilots are home 20+ days/month, with a normal work schedule.
Very cool.

Long time first time, blah blah blah.

Been interested in Atlas for while now and have an upcoming interview. Read through this whole thread at least twice now. Currently in a super cushy 135 gig and live about 2hr away from CVG. I've done the cargo stuff in a previous life, so I get that aspect of things, and honestly kind of miss it. Really looking at the T7/767 opportunities in CVG. Some of the info in this thread on those 2 fleets is over a year old and I know things have probably changed since this thread was started. Was just curious as to what some 767/T7 or even 737 guys lives are like now at CVG. Priority for me is a good work/life balance. I'm away from my own bed 16 nights a month now, so 17 days/month really isn't a deal breaker. Are the split lines on those fleets (T7/767) going junior? My home life is fine being gone 16-17 days a month, but ideally not in 1 stretch, which is why the split lines are appealing to me. How are the 737 lines looking? Based on this thread it sounds like if you're CVG based you never actually see CVG, you fly less, are gone just as much, and make less, but I also understand that info could be out dated. As someone that lives within 2hr of CVG, any recommendations on which fleet would have the best QOL/maybe net me an extra night in my own bed? I'm young, no kids, and would still like to scratch that heavy/international itch before the home-life picture drastically changes, but for a higher QOL and work/life balance I'm not going to cry if I never get to say "heavy" on the radio.

Looking forward to the interview and learning more about the opportunity!
TIA

From what I have heard, living close to CVG and bidding CVG 767 reserve is the best way to be home a lot. I am NOT 767...

Hi there,
Would you know if 767 ONT is a similar vibe? Looks like the same trips over the pond to Hawaii with a few to CVG thrown in.
Just seeing that based on my limited ability to follow on Flightware
Any insight is appreciated.

How senior is MEM? Which airframe would offer the highest seniority there?
