)*The massive reality check will hopefully become apparent to those at the top of the Giant matrix when the current flow of exodus doubles or even triples. More cheddar will be required to help suppress the “flow thru program” that has been created. Peak isn’t too far around the corner… Interesting times.

Well, China and HKG still pay the premium, and that has been the majority of this gravy train.

True on many accounts and it’s a very nice crutch to have. It is amazing how these shifts in art 33 locations affects the whole bidding cycle at times. While a little tiresome, the MIA-ICN will be missed as understanding the top premium on that run makes things much more amiable if you will. If/when Europe slides out of the art 33 as well as the stateside to ICN/NRT to include S. A., I myself will shift my attention towards the Far East as many will yet again. It was a nice break for a few months running down schnitzel, etc. At least if you choose to out base in Europe your chances of picking up lines will logically increase as folks fly hard for premium and some drop off the books on standard lines for better options. Less premium brings the masses to the honey pot and while the old normal draws little attention. What a whirlwind we live in.

ICN being Art33 is nuts. It just depends on how long this Omicron surge lasts there. Their vaccination coverage is good so doubt it will be for long. China/HKG will stay in lockdown for a long time, I doubt they will lift their crazy Covid Zero-policy this year, so there is still plenty of money to be made.

That MIA-ICN and getting paid 34 hours (I did it for VX last month mid-pattern so it was 40 hours for me) for one flight will be missed, but now the MIA guys can go back to calling out sick for it so normal service will resume

I admit my comments are purely from the 747 perspective, I don't really know a thing about the other fleets.
A good chunk of 747 pilots never seem to cross the Atlantic. A lot of it is flying the famous rubber canine fecal matter from Hong Kong.

Agree wholeheartedly and hang out with y’all frequently. Just did easy runs GSP-HHN, HHN-GSP x 2 and MIA-ICN plus some upcoming Big Red runs. I will miss Europe when they drawdown so it will be back to the dedicated salt mines (w/cheddar). Big Red’s combination of lockdowns, continuous extended duty periods, political strain, etc, etc, etc helps to elongate the situation there. They haven’t been Level IV well beyond over a year playing Level I for the majority of the time. As Dera mentioned it will be awhile most likely so it will be interesting to see however long it takes for events to trickle back to relative normality there. Capture all the rain water while in a lifeboat, get it while you can.
