I was hoping someone would pick up the ball and run with it like I did after swakid left, but here we are. Unfortunately (but fortunately) I'm no longer in a position to do it.

It was interesting looking at the changes. MIA is no longer a 11 year CA, and the majority of bases can be held within a year

The jr MIA CA is a bit of an anomaly though, he didn't get the spot through a normal monthly vacancy bid.

IIRC from 2750 emails that was a bit of a “loophole” that has since been closed.

Anyway thanks for all the well wishes and pulling for everyone that’s still there along with the company. Almost 3000 on the seniority list is a good sign.

It wasn't a loophole, it is just a rarely used part of our CBA most had forgotten.

I'm not sure but I don't think it has "closed", haven't really followed on that though so could be wrong.

Implying people forgot things carries an implication that the people who were bypassed were sonehow at fault for thinking their bids would get them into their base according to seniority. People didn't forget. The system was engineered poorly. What other airlines do with a single bid system we split into multiple bids. The fault isn't with the pilots.
