For my interview in May of last year, they went by alphabetical order based on your last name.

So, if your last name is Zuzzler, bring a shot or two of 5
Hour Energy.

Bottom guy in PAE is a 2/14 hire.

JFK 767 FO list has been shrinking. 24 CAs and now just 16 FOs - as guys either leave or bid out, they haven't been back-filling.

You'll see more bases open up over time. Word is there are more 747 CA vacancies coming, which will trigger more 767 CA slots, and bases will open up as FOs upgrade to 767 CA.

Of course, ANC FO is up to 190 on paper (126 actual thus far) and I doubt they need more than 100. Presumably many of those guys will bid out as seniority allows.

Thx for the info, I am looking forward to the interview process and spending a day or two in MIA, I took the written test the last week of April and did the phone interview a week later and got the email to interview the next day. See you guys in MIA.

Senior on 767 as well with very small number of FOs. Typically JFK trips do not originate at JFK (I've been there 2X in 18 months).

Was able to get information from an industry source that Atlas will be attending OBAP in Washington, DC in August... anybody know the specifics of attending the OBAP conference? I've never attended one of these before, primarily due to where I lived/worked. Any specific demeanor / attire rules or other tips someone could send my direction specifically in regards to Atlas?

Finally, are the schedules still commutable (10 day off blocks)?

Thanks.

If you live in, say, Florida and get ANC, you will lose a number of off days to Gateway travel, but the commute is the company's responsibility, not yours. With a little seniority, you would probably be able to hold 3 trips in a two month bid period. On those, off days can be as short as 5 days, but usually 7-10.

You owe the company 17 days a month. So you get 13 or 14 days off. In a one month bid the 17 days normally are together. So you could work the 1st to the 17th and have the rest of the month off. Or it could be the 3rd to the 19th. So how much time off you get really depends on last month's bid. If you're HSV based most of the trips get in too late the last day to get out so you're going home on day 18. If you're JFK and actually have to go to JFK many trips start at 2z so you'll go up there on day 0.

If you get a "60 day line" which is really a 2 month bid you'll work up to 34 days. Normally those days are broken into 3 parts. Per the contract there has to be 5 days off between "patterns" of work days. How many days you spend at home depends on where you start and stop flying. Some bases, CVG, IAH, MIA and HSV, are like real airline bases with most their flights starting and ending in base. JFK and PAE have more lines that start or end with a DH which means the company will DH you from your gateway on day one.

Hello I am going to apply to Atlas air and i have a few questions before I do so...not that it will change my mind about applying!
-How senior is PAE?
-Is a new hire going to 767 or 747
-What is it like commuting for this job?
-Most senior and most junior base.
-Likely hood of getting JFK as a base.

Thank you!
