I don't think the party will be over for quite some time... They have 1200 pilots now and the rumor is they want to be at 2000 yesterday. Keep at it!

Thanks for the encouragement! I'm at TT 2,700 with about 630 Jet PIC (135 freight dog). Any idea if I'd have a shot?

You definitely have a shot. I got on with 3200TT and 0 TPIC. Good luck!

Quick question: Do you really need to wait a year to reapply? What if you really want to work there?

Ahah, I have submitted and updated my resume and PAQ since 2012. But apparently it doesn't mean much there. Good luck to you.

The discussion a couple days ago about the length of IOE is troubling. Can anyone elaborate as to the reasons, and more specifically, if you are not IOE complete, what are you doing? Do you sit reserve in base waiting for an IOE opportunity since you can't fly normal lines? Do you sit home until something opens up resulting in 3-4 months of long call-like status? What is the real reason for the long IOE times (training dept, LCA shortages, hew hire deficiencies)? Thanks.

I don't find it troubling at all. It is not OE that is taking long, it is the wait for OE. I believe it is due to a current shortage of check airman. While waiting, you sit at home. You get to bid for your days off, and the 17 days you work are spent on a long call-like status. 4 months after your hire date (or if you finish OE), you start making first year guarantee instead of training pay.

You sit at home waiting for your ioe. You can't be sitting reserve since you are not fully qualified... you have to log 100hrs after checkride within 120 days so you may have to go back in the box for another checkride while you wait for your turn.

I retire from the military in a few months and am comparing my options. Not in class anywhere yet, but here's to hoping!
