As they say in the military, "Never turn down a combat assignment." If they offer you a 767 class and you want the Whale, TAKE the 767. At some point (after your seat lock) you can bid whatever you want.
If you bypass, they may not have a class again for months/years. And most likely, they'll have a system bid before the class and you may be looking at the 767 anyway.
If your target airline offers you a class, TAKE IT! Ask questions later.

I've just heard, it may my very difficult going from 767 to 747 even if your seat lock is up because they hire many into the 74 vs allowing bidding onto it. On the flip side, I understand you can't go the other way, from 74 back down.

They can't put a new hire into a 74 spot if a 76 pilot off seat lock bids for it. What they were doing to get around it was placing all 74 vacancies in ANC for a while. The 76 pilots without that on their standing bid were stuck for a few extra months waiting for the company to post a vacancy at the base they want.

There is potential new hires could upgrade to 767 before the seat lock expires.
Also, if you get 747, and you are eligible to upgrade on 767. Would you take it?
Like said before, there are plus and minuses on either plane.
Good luck to all!

Speaking of vacancy awards, new one is out. 36 Openings for CVG 76 new hires, 48 for ANC 74. Junior 74 CA is CVG based and a Dec 2010 hire, junior 76 CA also CVG Feb 2011 hire. New hires and prospective pilots don't count on that though, there have been a lot of pilots hired since then.

Those numbers are encouraging to hear! I'm still hoping for that magical email to appear in my inbox and would love love love to be at the interviews in October. Heck, even my wife is on board!
One quick question though: Since the consensus here is that the online test is more of a CRM exercise than anything else, how many people would you suggest to have helping you?
