Better to stay focused and stay in Miami. Some folks did head for home when there were the rare couple of days in a row off during my initial training. There were always plans to do studying while at home but somehow they never seemed to materialize. That's just how it is. Should you choose to go home it will be by jumpseat (or driving if you live close enough).
My Initial ran over Christmas. We were given about 5-6 days off and Gateway/Alternate Travel to/from home (or elsewhere if approved).

Anybody have an idea on how long the waiting game will take before they give a response? I assume they would give the oct 12 to the guys that have previous 121/jet experience. Just hoping theyll let me get my feet wet giving the bulk of my experience is 91 corporate and turboprop time....dont really think thwt the transition to the 121/jet world would be that big of a difference. Although it would present itself with some challenges, but nothing that is out of my league...

A guy who interviewed this week had a job offer when he landed at home and starts on Monday. Took me 9 months to get a call. Longest I've heard of is 1.5 years. But the pool seems pretty much empty right now. They're interviewing a ton in October, so that may give them enough swimmers to last a few months.

But the short answer is no - nobody has any idea when any particular applicant might get a call. I remember how maddening it can be, but it's good training for all things Atlas. Learn to let go of the things you have no control over, and life here gets much more enjoyable.

I think you're up to about a dozen beers I need to buy you.

Another zen-like perfect summation.

How long are most guys waiting from the time that they send in their application to the time that they are asked to take the online test? I just updated my resume and sent it in again yesterday (for what feels like the 5th or 6th time) and I have never heard any sort of response, whatsoever. About 2800 total time with about 700 jet PIC doing 135 freight. I thought that I would have been seen as a pretty good fit for the company.
Thanks!

Keep at it. Some have been called after a month, some after 4 yrs (myself included). It's very random and doesn't seem like any kind of pattern is followed.good luck.

Hey everybody,
I'm trying to jumpseat out of SFO and have never ridden on Atlas before. Can anyone tell me where I should go to meet the plane. I'll be trying to hitch on a 767 if that helps.

Did you not even get the automated response that they received your PAQ? Just got mine in for the first time this week and at least got that. I have almost the exact same quals as you. Hoping, wishing, praying....

DHL. They should send you the info after you list online.

I'm the guy referred to above who got called before I even got back to Texas from the interview. I applied about two years ago, and never heard boo from anyone until I met a captain who befriended me, explained everything to me, and then walked my stuff in, as well as one of my old F/Os at Eagle who got on earlier this year wrote me a rec as well. Two days later came the test, a week later the phone, 5 days later the interview/offer. I know EXACTLY the pain y'all are going through waiting and feeling like no one is even receiving your PAQ; just keep at it, and network! PIC doesn't mean diddly anymore; its all who you know.
