I was just looking at the pay rates and it appears 737 FO’s would take a pay cut year two from year one and get a 45 cent pay raise on year three from year one, Ouch!

e. Light Lift Equipment
For any aircraft with a MTOW of less than one hundred twentyfive
thousand (125,000) kilograms, seventy-five and ninety-one,
one hundredths percent (75.91%) of the rates of pay set forth in
Section 3, rounded to the nearest whole cent, shall be
applicable.

79.6 1 79.6
100 0.7591 75.91
105.45 0.7591 80.047095
111.14 0.7591 84.366374
117.08 0.7591 88.875428
123.27 0.7591 93.574257
128.81 0.7591 97.779671
132.67 0.7591 100.709797

Welcome aboard.

And there is a lot of pot stirring here. Update your apps! Update your apps! This is all I hear. You know what's really happening? None of these crusty captains have any intention on going anywhere they want every person under 45 to jump ship only to make their bargaining position better for THEMSELVES. GFY.

I not buying into rumor, just looking at past history. Somewhere along the way in my reading I remember something along the lines of those who don't learn from history are bound to repeat it. With that being said the Polar/Atlas merger was less than easy or fast.

Please don't blame the "crusty captains" for telling you to eject from here. I'm not that old to be called a "crusty captain" but i've been here a long time -- I make it a point to tell all the "youngsters" I fly with that they need to bail out. Why? -- not so I can get a better bargaining position, but in fact, they can actually end up with a career and a future that I may never end up with due to various circumstances (too long a story so please don't ask!)

Stop throwing stones at the glass walls, and join the ALL IN movement... stop blaming the "crusty captains" and try to educate them and try to bring them in to our merry band so we can all benefit.

I have a few questions concerning training, OE:

1. During orientation/training does the union provide training to new hires about the contract? I'm new to CBA's (retired military) so training would be very beneficial.

2. After completion of training and awaiting OE, is it acceptable to work another job if it isn't a 121 carrier? Is this something that I need to inform the company of?

3. What's the usual timeframe for CBA negotiations? If it goes to arbitration, what CBA's are comparison CBA's? Other ACMI carriers, legacy, cargo?

thanks in advance

1. No training, at least when I came through, but no need either, just read the CBA and the CBAG (cliffs notes version).

2. Can't help there.

3. CBA negotiations can be quick and early (United just approved an early extension a couple weeks ago), but are usually much longer FedEx just finished after 6 or 7 years, Kalitta is at 7 years and counting).

Yes and no. They come in and talk about the union and some of the main topics (ie: gateway, imputed income, VX days, etc) but it's extremely brief. They also do some pizza parties throughout training at the hotel. You are welcome to ask questions during each but there is no way to cover it all. Really have to read the CBA yourself because as with any airline contract, there is more misinformation out there than truth.
