Actually 24 for the 747 class, 18 for the 767 class....

With 61 Poolies added from the recent interviews, combined with roughly 130 added from the January sessions, a pool size of 186 means only a small handful of guys from January have gotten class dates...ouch.

Is there any way to increase IOE capacity by shifting the workforce from training center to line-flying? Probably doesn't work that way, but just a thought.

As for your training ideas, not sure what you're suggesting, but the back log is the line flying, not enough LCA's to handle the IOE volume.

If they resume 767 class in May and keep the previously planned class sizes/timing, there would be 182 in class by July 18. Patience boys and girls, pool times were MUCH longer a year or so ago. Also, gives everyone time to see how the merger progresses.

While I hesitate to use a wide brush, and there are indeed some training center people who are exceptional airmen [BK for one], the idea of training center people for OE is frightening. Using LNAV/VNAV for an ORD visual during busy hours? Yes, it has been done. Badly.

Yet it works so well in the sim...
