Exactly, last straw. I've got 27 years left if I can hold a medical, and I'm not about to invest another 6 months into this place if I can help it. Assuming that I'm fortunate enough to be hired by a real airline.

Default Not one to say much...

I've been at Atlas a little over six years now. Loved flying the 747. Switched to the left seat in the 767 a couple years ago and, after a short what in the heck did I do to myself period, am loving the 767 as well. Truthfully I have really enjoyed my time here.

All of the negative things that people post here are pretty much dead on. You can be away from home an awful lot, they can screw up your schedule without even trying, and the pay has a ways to go.

That said, working here has a ton of pluses if you like this kind of flying. If you have a super supportive family at home and can deal with some of the curve balls this place throws at you its actually a pretty neat place to work. Totally my opinion of course...

Sadly, today we received another letter from upper management that indicates to me that they truly don't give a rats ass about us, the viability of the company, or that they have any scruples whatsoever. I've never advocated that anyone avoid Atlas before, quite the contrary, but now I feel that I must warn anyone and everyone away from this place.

Do not come to Atlas Air. There has always been some question as to the quality of people that come here, there will be no question anymore...this place should be reserved for those that can't get a flying job anywhere else...

Atlas has been in business for 25 years. The pilots have been allowed to vote on a contract exactly once. Think about that. Just once in two & a half decades. Now making 45-60% less than industry standard contracts - with work rules that are blown away by even most regional airlines.

This looks like the corporate version of CFIT. No situational awareness due to intentional inattention.

I can only imagine the phone calls from customers & shareholders when the planes stop moving due to the exodus.

The spirit of Lorenzo, alive and well at AAWH. This is straight from the Lorenzo play book but be warned if you come here and the Union win this lawsuit (unlikely with the current anti labor judiciary.) The very next "play" in the book is FURLOUGH. This tactic is to scare the triumphant unionists into voting for a substandard contract anyway to keep their now in jeopardy jobs. We have the lowest morale in the industry but in the words of Bachman Turner Overdrive........you ain't seen nothin yet!

Management's ideaology: "Why negotiate when you can litigate?"

If you're at Atlas and haven't been updating your apps, you are way behind the power curve in my humble opinion. The place is a sinking ship. I'm only mad because I've help guys get hired at Atlas.

DO NOT COME TO ATLAS! Are you not aware that the company filed a lawsuit against the pilots yesterday? Are you not aware that for the first year you have no union protection. You are on probation for the first 365 days!

Things are going to get really nasty over the next few months. Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere. Heck, even Kalitta is NOW BETTER than Atlas!

Our compensation sucks compared to the rest of the industry. Our work rules are pathetic and we get the privilege of paying taxes (Imputed Income) on our travel to/from base ! Who else has to pay for the privilege of coming or going to work!

DO NOT COME HERE! DO YOURSELF A FAVOR!
