i) Not unless we get a new CBA on par with other major carriers. It can be a stepping stone depending on your background. why are you not getting interest from the majors? Do you need PIC? Would Atlas make that much of a difference on your resume, since you already have 747 time?
ii) yes, only 32 FOs (that base has shrunk over the years), junior guy has been here a little over 1.5 years, it's also the senior 767 base.
iii) it's very different. perhaps you should investigate this more.
iv) min guarantee is 50 first year, 62 thereafter.
v) take the hourly pay, multiply by 72, then by 12. That's a decent WAG for what you'll make 2nd year and beyond. I've been here 5+ years and have not broken $100k yet. That would be easier to do if you get the 747.
vi) in what way would it help? yes, there's a chance. I also have a chance at winning the lottery if i buy a ticket.
vii) before their new deal? No. Now? Probably. I don't keep tabs on the fine details, but their pay rates are certainly better. Dig into their work rules and decide.

 

Thanks for sharing the information CaptainV. Guess best bet is to try to get on to the 747. But does the company decide which candidates goes on which fleet or is it the seniority at the time of ground class?

Company decides, but hiring for the 747 currently outpaces the 767 2 to 1. Plus, they're not exactly in a position to turn away qualified candidates. You might have to wait a class or two, but most likely they'd give it to you.

It was 1.4% of last year's pay. If you're talking take home after taxes, union dues and 401k, that would make the payout around 180 which means according to your statement "most" Atlas pilots made less than 13k last year. It's screwed up but you lose credibility when you go that far from reality.

 

Well since you don't get full profit sharing until after your 2nd full year and with all the hiring lately he could be right. Hundreds under 1 year get $0 and everybody in year 2 gets prorated amounts, most being very low.

 

So they are allowing you to delay your class date if you want to get the desired equipment? This seems strange considering the southern air switcheroo they have been said to be pulling.

There are about 370 yearlings, I wasn't counting them. Another 274 second year who were prorated. Eight hundred and third six should have gotten the full 1.4 percent. Guessing the 350 was take home so the total would have been around 700 which means his 2016 pay would have been right around 50 thousand. Long term medical for the year?

Eight year 400 Captain - $1841/$945 take home. About a week of F/O pay!!!!
