767 classes are much more the norm in the airline industry where most of the primary learning is accomplished in the classroom, but study time is still needed, whereas what I hear from the 747 guys which is, "Here's the material! Good luck!"

That's pretty much correct. On the 747 side, it's a checking center, not a training center. And while things have gotten better since SA took over, change happens slowly (if at all) with the old guard.

Listen to this guy.

In 2 months of training I didn't go home once. My wife came down for a visit and I took one full day off from any studying. I was stressed that whole day about not studying. I can't imagine how stressed I would have been if I'd been JSing home every weekend.

In my study group we considered days "off" to be days that you could catch up on studying.

True statement plus Connie was called in DC to explain why he wasn't on the table negotiating so they told him get it done. The DC pressure scared him for sure. He never been called to DC before.

You'd be able to hold HSV 6-9 months in. You'd be on the bottom of the list for a year or so after that. About half of the FOs are in ANC right now.

HSV is shrinking. ORD and LAX? are expanding. I think CVG and ANC are also expanding (JFK and IAH are shrinking)...this is for the 747.

Heard a rumour from an IAH guy that Omni -777 is taking over the IAH express service to Africa. He is worried that IAH is either going away, or shrinking to almost nothing (he lives in IAH and is on the 747).

Hey fellas, those of you that have gone through training recently.. Does training start at the beginning of the month or mid month? Trying to get an idea, as I'm in the hiring pool. Thanks in advance!
