Awesome!! I love you, man...AND you can have my Bud Lite!! ;)

Wish I could've hung-out all night at the grille, but duty called ;) Loved the tag line, "And then her t**s fell out!" during the flyovers!! That's just da bomb!! It's people like you that really help anxious interviewees and new-hires feel at ease and welcome in a new environment and under intense stress!!

I'm happy to have met you and the other new-hires and recurrent fellas. It was cool running into you in the hallway during the tour, too. I'm flabbergasted that NONE of the other 11 in my interview group made the Pilgrimage to "The Grille!" I'd have figured they would be APC junkies and be all over that place!! I should've driven down from MCO TWO days earlier to spend an entire day gille-side with my cooler!

Folks, EVERYONE down in MIA was a pleasure to be around, and I can't wait to start experiencing life out on the line, if I'm fortunate enough to make the final cut. The P-3 Orion fella in my Panel interview was fun to banter with about my service in Submarines ;)

For those of you that submitted your stuff in the recent window, there WERE folks at my interview this past week who had their stuff in for over a year, right down to a few who JUST started the process at the beginning of this last window. BE READY for the phone interview and take the test as early as possible!!

The breakdown was: furloughed ACMI, current ACMI, corporate, 3 Air Force, LCC, and regional. Another OH'er & I had very little TPIC, but a load of SIC. So, If you're a regional guy with the mins, you should be good to go. I think us regional guys had around 7k hours or more. The guys wondering about strictly t-prop time...one of my interviewers was a P-3 guy, so I wouldn't sweat it!

Good luck to y'all; the good ship Atlas is cruising ahead at Flank Speed and I think we'll all be in a much better place if we're admitted aboard beyond the Quarterdeck!!

Hovernut,

Good seeing you Tuesday evening. By hitting the grill pre-interview you're getting exposed to the Atlas lifestyle on day 0.

Here Here!!! ...did my homework! Like I mentioned before, I wish I had driven down even earlier to 'soak it in' even more ;)

Hey guys,

First post and would like to add my thanks to everyone for keeping this thread moving. I've read the whole thing, and doing everything I can to be ready for the call. Thanks Hovernut for the update today, just what I needed to hear! Was wondering where I might stand after seeing that long line of heavy qualified guys in Chicago last week, but it sounds good.

Can't wait to visit the infamous grill. Maybe I'll bring something to keep it stocked, like a new scrub brush. I'm a stout guy myself, but I'll gladly take requests!

I was 'Pre Polar' ...meaning, I started the process before the parking of the '200s. I went to the EWR job fair last October, got the phone interview just before Thanksgiving, then took 'THE TEST' after Thanksgiving. Fellas that took the test just a day or two before me had interview invites sent them for Jan, but were rescinded soon afterwards after the Classic retirements were announced. When interviews re-started recently, those former invitees were re-invited, then I guess they started cleaning up the list with the rest of us that were in a sort-of lingering limbo.

I'm happy to have waited and have passed-up/delayed a few opportunities to give Atlas my full attention, figuring I'd get a chance to interview when all the Classic guys were done being put through transition.

I'm happy to give my $.02 on my recent experience w/o giving away the store ;) I KNOW how much my fellow hopefuls CRAVE any and all information on anything ATLAS!! Frankly, I'm a bit surprised not to have seen a bit more 'after-action' reports from the August interviewees, and the 3-day's worth of interviewees this time 'round.

As mentioned before, I'd highly recommend paying homage to 'The Grille' and maybe meeting Cargowannabe, or Twin Wasp, or any numer of other fantastic Atlas crewmembers or new-hires! They'll certainly make you feel welcome and they'll assure you Atlas is the place you 'wannabe!'

Hey...whaddya expect from something that's long, hard, and full of Seamen?? ....guess that joke is dated nowadays since the Navy is letting women on the Tridents now.
;)

...If I make it to the Line, ask me sometime about why the Missile Control Center door is now kept open while underway and on Alert!

Notice to current employer?

Great thread, and a huge thank you, to everybody making contributions!!:D
Been trying to get through this entire thing over the weekend, almost done…

Have gotten an excellent impression of Atlas, through this thread,
And seriously contemplating to start the hiring process.

I’m assuming most of the Atlas wannabes here, currently are employed.
How is it then practically done if you were to be accepted by Atlas,
And have a 1/3/6 month notice to (leave)your current employer?
Will Atlas be able to accommodate, and tell you you’re hired(!),
With a start date 1/3/6 months ahead of time?

Couldn’t find any info about this, so far…

I live in the US, work in Europe, right seat B737,pax-airline(4000 hours on the 737).
8600TT.FAA and JAA ATP.
49.y.old.
Would Atlas consider me?

Cheers.
