At least on the 747 side I don't think it made any difference. For Jan and Feb I'm only working 15 days each month. I had 4 legs in Jan. At least the rig will bring me a few hours above guarantee.

Got the call today. Start 74 class on the 18th. Applied in August. Interviewed Jan 16th. 3500ish TT, all mil. Thanks to all here. This forum was great resource during the whole process. Two questions: what kind of beer is most appreciated by the grill? And, what is the dress at training? Assuming business casual....polos ok or button down only?

Free seems to be the most popular.

Business casual it is. Polos ok, no jeans, tees, or flip-flops. Jeans are allowed on Sat/Sun, though.

BTW, Congrats!!!

Edit: Do bring a dress shirt and tie for your oral and type ride. You may be asked to remove the tie, depending which check airman you get, but you'd better show up with one.

We all wore shirt/tie/slacks, but no one wore suits.

I got the call yesterday for an 18 Feb 747 class. Unfortunately I was flying in the middle east at the time. WHen I landed I checked my voicemail and immediately left voicemails and emailed back as well. I hope I'm not too late. Congrats to those who will be there. I hope to see/meet you all on 18 Feb.

Congratulations KYTBRD, ALOHA and Tanker!

ALOHA and Tanker I heard you guys had not received your letters yet after the interview. Did you get the call without receiving your letter. I just interviewed 5 Feb and want to know if I need run circles around my phone all day and wag my tail waiting on it to ring.

This forum was spot on. I have nothing new to add except we didn't fill out paperwork (PRIA, ETC) and the essay question was to "explain V1 in reference to balanced field length and explain how this affects climb performance as well as reduce power." Sorry that is as close as I can get to recalling it. I learned my takeoff data in the military and couldn't get my hands around the question. I did my best and wasn't going to let it get me down. I believe the rest of the interview went well thanks to this forum.
