Wow, I wouldn't think that is a normal equipment bid is it? Vacancies equal to roughly 5% of the pilot work force seems pretty high. Is there that much growth, or more attrition than was expected?

I did the pre-screen phone interview Friday, and was given until mid week to do the online test. Assuming I pass that they told me to expect a mid-March interview. Looks like most will end up on the whale in the near term, nothin' wrong with that!

This was a system wide position vacancy award which showed 16 747 and 8 767 captain positions awarded along with the 52 new hire positions.

Atlas has about 30 retirements this year for starters so I guess the rest is for growth and for whoever leaves for greener (or purpler) pastures ... I don't actually think there is very much attrition to speak of (though I'm always encouraging the senior guys to move on )

Also, as you have no doubt read, better to take the test asap to get the best point value on your overall score - assuming of course, you are ready for it.

Thanks for the heads up! I have read tons, and found a lot of great resources, both here and from friends, but not sure how I missed that.

I'll finish studying up today and take it either tonight or first thing in the morning!
