Probable bottom line from an interviewer's perspective. Are you wearing three or four stripes on your shoulder? Have you been through your company's Captain upgrade course? If the answer is three and no, then don't even think about calling it PIC time. It makes one appear to be padding the experience level and will probably kill your interview at most companies IMHO.

My bad. Not Ops Specs but FOM 3.6.22:

"The Relief Pilot (RP) designated by the Captain to act as PIC during the Captain's rest period will indicate, to the right of the RP's name, the start and end time that the RP acted as PIC, followed by his signature (e.g., PIC/1400-1830 Ace McCool)."

No way to tell. I applied Aug 2012. Received a call in late dec 12. Of course my availability wasn't until Feb 13. Some folks apply multile times and wait well over a year. Others apply once and get a call in a month or two. No real way to accurately calculate your chances for a call. Talking with folks over the past few months I haven't noticed any commonalities of when, how, or who gets a call. Just be ready for the call when it comes.

Again, just playing devil's advocate here. I'm just an RJ driver who wouldn't half mind being at atlas...
The FOs up front & the CA taking a nap, since he signs for the jet & release.

Just like if you're in your jet on a domestic flight, you're in the lav & there is a deviation. You signed the release & logbook, you'll have to answer some questions.

How long have you had your stuff into atlas? What's your times and background if you don't mind sharing?

Hello All, I am a Part 135 Citation driver with 2500 hrs PIC turbojet but no ocean crossings under my belt, nor do I have an heavy time. I have not seen anyone post that they have been hired with similar qualifications. Does anyone know if Part 135 guys/gals are getting looked at? Thanks in advance for your help!

It doesn't seem to matter. Plenty of us heavy-ACMI guys haven't heard a peep while RJ and corporate guys have. With that, it just shows Atlas isn't "weighing" your background(ie. typed-heavy, 100's of Atlantic crossing, etc). Just read the ENTIRE thread, take good notes and be ready for the call. Good luck!

I disagree...what they are doing is trying to select a group of pilots that best represent a good cross section of the industry.

Yes, I do agree that hiring only guys with heavy jet experience is more of a known-quantity, but individual applicants may have other issues that don't fit well with the Atlas culture (as they see it).

And therefore, RJ drivers, Corporate-only guys, lawn-dart drivers (fighter-only guys), get the nod as well...

Sorry, that is how the interview slots are filled industry-wide.
