All I can say is that folks at Atlas generally are happy and content because the prevailing corporate culture is rather good. Rarely do you see/hear a labor group warmly praising middle/upper management in random discussions and being thankful of the person driving the bus.

No, there is no brainwashing. It's just, for the most part, really good!

if it were that good they would be telling others to post here but it is always the same posters with the same info - blah blah
Why don't you tell us how great that 90 day TDY is?

I guess it is a small percentage, but many just are not frequent posters or do not prefer to spend their time on this forum. Regardless of that percentage, the information here proved to be helpful and still holds true IMHO.

Still havin' fun....

That's a statistic I can applaud.

How about you enjoy Omni and promote it. We'll enjoy Atlas and promote Atlas. And we'll agree not to go to your thread and disrespect your efforts if you agree to do the same.

What do you say?

sorry I ruffled some feathers - just having some fun - and to be truthful the Atlas guys here are looking out for new comers and their company and the ones I have met on the road have been great - I will post no more on your tread

dc10,

It is not about not posting here...just offer a constructive argument and make your case for your airline...this thread has mostly stayed on track through 820 pages due to the focus most of us placed on helping prospective Atlas pilots.

Some of us that were actively posting earlier have now backed away because more recently hired pilots have more relevant information about the hiring process than what I can offer now...and lots of newly hired Atlas pilots have stepped up to share their experiences...

Sorry if this has been covered earlier in this post, I just didn't feel like scrolling through 820 pages of People Fighting.

What are the AVERAGE days on and hours by the end of the month. People at my current employment like to focus on the bad, such as "taxable travel to work, insurance costs, and a bunch of other garbage." I am not naive and I realize every place has its negatives, but what matters to me is days off, pay hours, and insurance quality and cost.

Thanks guys! Keep up the great posting!

I can only speak for the 767 (CVG base, at that), but typical days on for a month is 17. I've seen the occasional line that has 16, or even 15 days on, but you should count on having 17 work days.

We have a number of "hybrid" lines that include 3-4 days of reserve (often "at home" reserve days). So there's a chance that even with the 17 work days, you will get some of those at home. Also, many lines will have the 17 days broken up into two or more trip pairings.

In the 13 months I've been on line, I have only been extended beyond 17 days in a month twice, and one of those times was a situation beyond the company's control (and was only 1 additional day). The second time was just this past week (and was for 2 days). I don't know if that's typical on the 747 side of the house, but in my personal experience the company is pretty good about not exceeding the 17 days worked.

Monthly pay credit is guaranteed at 62 hours. The 767 lines almost never pay out based on block hours, they always pay on rig. Typical rigs range from the high-60's to the mid-70's for the month. Unless you get a reserve line where they leave you at home for 3-4 days, you will usually see more than the min guarantee. It's extremely rare for any of the lines in CVG to top 80 hours of pay for the month.

Starting in August or so, the 767 will likely become the new hire equipment as the seat locks begin to go away for guys that have been hired into the 767. While not everyone will jump ship to the 747, it's expected that many, if not most, will. Current 767 bases are JFK and CVG, with CVG being the larger of the two.

Just a quick note about insurance (as I'm no expert). There are several options available. I believe the cost (while not insignificant) is pretty reasonable. I've personally been satisfied with our insurance.

I seem to serve my 17/mo whether I need to or not, that has been the vast majority (90+%) of my time here. Other bases seem to get guys home keeping them at 62. It seems to be base dependent.

Insurance has been good, imo. I've been satisfied.

The way the CBA is structured, the company has a lot of latitude. They choose to lean to the side of inefficiency. They could make some choices that could easily improve our QoL exponentially while maintaining our pay in a cost-neutral fashion. However, they choose not to.
