Atlas Air Hiring
Can someone shed some light on how gateway basing works? I live in the SFO area, and am interested in coming to Atlas. 10 year regional guy here, willing to fight tooth and nail for a better contract.

Got the call today!
February 29, 767.
Applied sometime in December, with three internal recs.
Job fair on January 8
Test email January 9
Interview January 20
"Preferential list" email January 22
Class date February 9
So everything happened very quickly! The deciding factors are *JOB FAIR* and internal recs. I chose the 747 as preferred (because of 2nd and 3rd year pay) but that I would start on whichever aircraft would be first available. Locking down a seniority # was more important to me than choosing a specific shiny jet.
Regional FO.
4,200 total time
2,300 turbine CRJ (zero turbine PIC)
Rest of the time mostly PIC as CFI, air ambulance pilot in Cessna 402, and part 135 commuter in BN-2 Islander.
Looking forward to join the team, and yes, 100% all in.

I'm going to take a stab in the dark that you're an OO pilot. Nobody is being a wise guy. There is a WEALTH of info in this thread. Go back to page one, just as we've all done, get a pot or three of coffee, and start reading. Nearly every question you have will be answered. Every. Single. One.
Before throwing a little attitude, you should probably follow his advice... This thread has every single answer you could possibly want and more on what life is like at atlas and the process to get on here.
The thread search is a very helpful tool...as well as the index that multiple people have previously linked too.

But even then, you STILL have to pick up the book and thumb through it get the answers you seek.
And NO. I'm NOT an "internet wiseguy".
But if doing some research on your own isn't for you, I don't know what to tell you.
Yeah, I hear ya.. Getting to/from ANC is deffinately a bit of a haul, especially if it's from the southeast.
Just trying to get a handle of what is likely to be expected after ANC..
MIA would be amazing, but I realize it's probably a bit of a pipe dream for quite some time.
CVG would be good too though..
I guess time will tell.

You WERE given the cliff notes, I gave them to you. Or a "card catalog", take your pick.....
